A couple of months ago, we reported that Proto Labs acquired FineLine Prototyping, Inc. a leading provider of additive manufacturing services. This move enables Proto Labs to offer a wider range of prototyping services, now that it has added additive manufacturing to its machining and injection molding services.
We recently spoke with Rob Connelly, Vice President, Additive Technologies at Proto Labs to discuss how this acquisition will affect the company and its services. One point he mentioned was that, with the combined capabilities of the two companies, submitted projects can now include both additive and subtractive processes in the design. Listen in on his thoughts.
