The Data Management Emerging Team is proud to announce that Project Snap is alive on Autodesk Labs!
The newest Autodesk Labs release for the Data Management team is now available.Â
What is Project Snap?
Project Snap is a unified platform for connecting users to their data. The concept is vetted in the recognition that design data is becoming increasingly distributed – leading to an increasingly disconnected set of design resources. Not all design data is located in one location. What’s critical is the need to connect users to the design data – wherever it may be.
The Snap technology platform will set out to provide the following:
- AÂ common browse and search platform for Autodesk design applications
- Improved access and visibility into design data without changing user workflows or moving files
- A platform for connecting users to multiple data sources (connectivity regardless of where the data resides)
  Â
The Project Snap technology provides a Google-like immersive search and browse experience while aggregating results through a common user experience. Users can deeply interrogate individual designs or examine federated search results across multiple content sources.
The Project Snap development team intends to roll out new functionality periodically – in phases – and incorporate user feedback along the way. The Autodesk Labs community provides an interactive forum that will ensure customer needs are being resolved as the platform evolves.
