PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL) and Arkema Inc. announced that PolyOne Distribution will now carry the full range of extrusion and injection molding grades in Arkema’s Rilsan® PA11 and Rilsan® PA12 polyamide resin portfolio, along with all grades of Pebax® thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) except USP Class VI materials.

Pebax® polyether block amides are plasticizer-free TPEs that are easy to process by injection molding and profile or film extrusion. These materials can achieve a wide range of physical and mechanical properties, from polyamide-like characteristics to those more typical of elastomers.

Rilsan® PA11 is a high-performance polymer derived from a renewable raw material – castor beans, while Rilsan® PA12 is derived from petroleum. Both Rilsan® PA11 and PA12 resins feature an excellent combination of thermal, physical, chemical and mechanical properties as well as ease of processing by injection molding, extrusion, blown film extrusion, extrusion blow molding or rotomolding. Both materials are available in a wide range of flexibilities.
