Solid Concepts has expanded its outsourcing services to meet the growing needs of design engineers in a broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, automotive, medical, electronics assembly, and more.
The focus of the expansion is a service and its corresponding website, www.ZoomRP.com, which is quick and easy to use. The site provides a simple three-step process for designers to acquire access to prototypes faster than anywhere else in the business. It’s as simple as uploading a design in an STL file, selecting a shipping option, and placing the order.
If an order is placed by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the finished part can be built and shipped for morning delivery the following day, using FedEx Priority Shipping. This is only the beginning for the new division. The company expects to expand from the standard rigid white material into whole other spectrums of fast, available prototypes, using a variety of materials and colors — all to come in following months.
Using high-speed, high-quality PolyJet technology, the company’s mission is to provide prototypes quickly and reliably. The PolyJet system builds parts in 16 micron layers in exceptional detail and edge visualization, and is suitable for high-quality prototypes as well as master patterns.
PolyJet prototypes are best suited for applications where accuracy, detail, and surface finish are critical, and where the part fits within a 5” x 5” x 5” (127mm x 127mm x 127mm) build volume. (The maximum Poly-Jet build volume is 19.3” x 15.4” x 7.9” (490mm x 390mm x 200mm).
