Optimize manufacturing, become sustainable and dig into legacy data with Oracle AI tools.
Oracle has just announced that it has added more than 50 generative AI features to its enterprise management software offerings in the Oracle Fusion Cloud Application Suite. These new capabilities will help users boost their productivity within supply chain, data analysis, sustainability and other product management workflows.
The release includes Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, a data analytics and AI solution powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure tools such as Oracle Autonomous Database, OCI Data Lake and Oracle Analytics Cloud. Fusion Data Intelligence is designed to help organizations make better decisions based on their PLM data.
“Collecting, analyzing and contextualizing data can be a time-consuming, error-prone process,” said T.K. Anand, executive vice president of Analytics at Oracle. “With Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, our customers can optimize this process by taking advantage of a comprehensive analytics offering that brings together data, ready-to-use analytics and prebuilt AI models in the right business context. The new AI capabilities we are adding can help customers further improve decision making and rapidly turn insights into action.”
Oracle Smart Operations was also announced. It is a new supply chain and manufacturing (SCM) tool that uses AI to help improve factory throughput while increasing productivity, quality and visibility, and reducing downtime. The tool uses data from equipment, workforces, supply chain and more to produce real time recommendations to improve factory operations and maintenance.
“As organizations look to insulate their operations from ongoing disruptions, many leaders are turning to technology to increase output, improve quality and build resiliency,” said Chris Leone, executive vice president of applications development at Oracle. “With Oracle Cloud SCM, organizations can connect and automate end-to-end supply chain processes and move toward a lights-out manufacturing model. The new smart manufacturing and maintenance capabilities can help our customers reduce inefficient manual recording and monitoring processes, increase safety, improve quality and optimize operations.”
Finally, Oracle Cloud EPM for Sustainability was announced. This enterprise performance management (EPM) tool helps organizations measure and manage sustainability initiatives. The tool sources environmental data from business units, systems, suppliers and partners to compile the information into reports, simulations, guidelines and solutions using AI and machine learning.
“Many organizations are beginning to treat sustainability reporting requirements with the same rigor, governance and technical expertise as financial reporting,” said Hari Sankar, group vice president of Product Management at Oracle. “With Oracle Cloud EPM for Sustainability, our customers can leverage a trusted solution that embeds AI and other advanced technologies to help improve efficiency, deliver insights, promote compliance and effectively manage their progress on sustainability initiatives.”
Other new AI advancements to Oracle’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and PLM technology include tools to:
- Find anomalies, variances and biases using pattern recognition AI.
- Generate narratives based on product and project performance and status.
- Predict and forecast pricing and supply chain changes.
- Produce executive summaries.
- Plan and generate proposals.
The company notes that no customer data is shared with the large language models (LLMs) used in the generative AI tools. This is done to ensure that sensitive data and IP is secured. Additionally, individual customers are the only ones enable to access any custom trained tools. Role-based security will also be taken into consideration when working with these AI tools.
