OptoFidelity Selects Aras Innovator Platform

ANDOVER, MA, Oct 21, 2022 – Finnish high-tech company OptoFidelity is implementing the Aras Innovator platform to simplify and scale its digital thread across the product lifecycle as it continues its strong growth trajectory. As the supplier to nine of the top ten smart device manufacturers, the company expects a very short implementation time thanks to Aras’ low-code platform and a rich set of platform services.

“The Aras platform and its PLM applications will significantly simplify our planning and manufacturing processes. Specifically in production, we will be able to work with our customers to map their respective configurations in digital form and use them for future projects,” says Lasse Lepistö, CEO at OptoFidelity. The company with expertise in artificial intelligence and virtual reality, touch displays, and smartphone refurbishment is developing and producing testing solutions for market leaders in smart device technologies.

In recent years, OptoFidelity has significantly amplified its output, and the complexity of machines and related processes have advanced exponentially. “We face the challenge of balancing a robust operational growth trajectory with an increasingly complicated product world. We’re able to overcome this with a solution that creates a digital thread across disciplines and enables efficient access to product data,” continues Lepistö.

Aras partner, Fulvisol, is leading the implementation. The first phase of the implementation was completed in three months and the project is expected to be completed before the end of the year. According to Fulvisol managing director Petri Surakka, the quick project time is possible because Aras Innovator’s low-code platform with a single data model makes the system fast to configure for the customer. “The configuration options allow us to implement the system in a short time. Only a few codes had to be written; everything else is configuration,” says Surakka.

“Even within a complex mechanical and electrical engineering environment, the openness and flexibility of the Aras platform enable us to progress quickly. This empowers companies to implement product lifecycle management without production downtime,” says Jens Rollenmüller, managing director Germany at Aras.

At OptoFidelity, the mechanical and electrical engineering departments were the first to begin using the Aras platform and other areas of the organization will start using it in future phases of the implementation. “The Aras platform breaks down silos so people can access information and data across the product lifecycle. It will lay the foundation for standardizing the production of customized machines in the long-term using a modular design,” says Lepistö.
