CAM Express 6.0.1 software debuted recently from Siemens PLM Software. It is the core component of the Velocity Series™ product and offers a new, history-free, feature-based design. It includes additional model editing tools so NC programmers can edit multi-CAD data.

CAM Express 6 provides expanded feature recognition. Multi-stepped holes, including chamfers and rounds and additional flats, slots, and pockets are recognized with a next-generation knowledge database to apply machining processes to feature sets.

Other model edit functions include tools for wireframe, surface extraction, sewing, projections, trim/extend, and simple solids. They help NC programmers make changes without waiting for model refreshes or customer edits. This synchronous technology enables intelligent selections with grab and manipulate features by topology.

Three-axis milling in CAM Express 6 provides advanced methods for effective high-speed   machining and surface finish. The streamlined operation fits smooth, flowing tool path to the part’s contours without concern for the underlying surface construction, resulting in effective motion and an excellent finish.

Velocity Series is a suite of modular, integrated PLM  products. It consists of a preconfigured family of digital product design, analysis, and data management software packages.
