Lenovo announces new edge-to-cloud server, storage and service solutions.

Last week, Lenovo announced in a press release that it will offer a new suite of edge-to-cloud flexible IT infrastructure solutions aimed at midsize companies. The solutions include the new single-socket ThinkSystem V2 servers, updated TruScale Infinite Storage, and a range of IT service offerings.
The ThinkSystem servers come in the single-socket ST50 V2, ST250 V2 and SR250 V2 iterations, which are marketed to businesses that need support for applications in retail, manufacturing, and financial services. In addition, the servers can work in conjunction with the ThinkSystem DM5100F storage system, which features an all-flash storage area network (SAN) solution for managing edge-to-cloud data and adapting to changing workloads.
Midsize Digital Transformations
As digital transformations permeate the global economy, companies are under pressure to keep up with swiftly evolving demands and get products and services to market faster as well as manage resources amid an unforgiving supply chain and the constant threat of cyberattacks. However, many small and midsize businesses face staffing shortages and lack the skills and established IT departments to build the necessary foundation for digital transformations. TIDC projects that about 70 percent of midsize businesses will increase their IT spending by 2026.
Lenovo says that its new solutions are designed to provide these types of businesses with reliable infrastructure to support edge-to-cloud computing.
“As the global digital transformation continues, the right IT infrastructure and services are at the heart of every business, unlocking intelligence that expands opportunities and fuels growth,” said Kamran Amini of Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group in the company’s press release. “Working with our broad system of channel partners and solution providers, Lenovo’s new IT infrastructure solutions and TruScale services for midsize businesses are optimized to help organizations improve customer service, accelerate sales and roll out next-generation applications so they can grow their business now and well into the future.”
Lenovo’s XClarity infrastructure management software aims to help users manage their data and infrastructure. The software offers a dashboard that can standardize and automate IT management tasks. Lenovo states that the software enables systems to be configured in as little as three minutes to stem 90 percent of service requests.
