The ROMER measuring arm packages now come equipped with PC-DMIS Touch Portable measurement software. Using high-resolution Multi-Touch display technology on a tablet PC, you can physically interact with the software’s guided measurement sequences and report templates.

PC-DMIS Touch offers a new look, feel and workflow to complete measurement tasks. One-time dimensions are executed through intuitive automated measurement sequences while more complex measurement plans are created by simply following guided measurement sequences and measuring features directly on the part. A graphical representation of the measured features is always displayed in the center of the interface, where it’s needed, during all measurement tasks.

The software organizes measurement plan features intuitively by “Face,” a new concept for the traditional work-plane. You are guided through measurement processes using inspection tools, such as simple feature measurement, construction of features or feature sets, 2D and 3D dimensional reporting, GD&T configuration and more. Each of these tasks follows a consistent, intuitive sequence that is learned with minimal training. The software also allows execution of existing routines with a simple swipe of the finger.

The PC-DMIS Touch interface is suited to ROMER portable arm users. The arm’s zero-g counterbalance design allows single-handed operation leaves the second hand free to interact with the touch screen. Non-repetitive measuring activities typical of measuring arms fit the software’s no-programming-required interface.

The user experience includes full touch gesturing and use of color in distinctive ways to guide you through a task. It becomes an immersive experience that allows any user to accomplish a job swiftly and easily.
