Morris Technologies, Inc. (MTI), the global leader in additive metal manufacturing, has been selected as a member of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII). The Institute is a consortium of 40 public and private businesses, nine universities, five community colleges, and 11 non-profit organizations and is led by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining. According to the Department of Commerce website, “The NAMII will provide the innovation infrastructure needed to support new additive manufacturing technology and products in order to become a global center of excellence for additive manufacturing.”
Morris Technologies introduced additive metal manufacturing to the United States in 2003 and now boasts 21 machines dedicated to the process, featuring both direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) and electron beam melting (EBM) technologies.
