Materialise has made important advancement in the additive manufacturing (3D printing) industry: tools to control the manufacturing process and drive efficiency. Materialise will unveil this software system, and announce its official name, at the Materialise World Conference in Leuven Belgium, April 18 – 20.
The additive manufacturing automation and control system manages data and work flow from quotation through delivery. Built on a centralized database, which includes linking to CAD files, all member of the team —sales, scheduling, operations, post processing and management — have ready access to the data needed to run the operation.
Tools include real-time reporting of quote activity, order status and personnel assignments. For scheduling, files from many sources are integrated into the planning system where machine availability and configuration are viewable. The software includes customized reporting for all information needs.
The company notes that the automation and control system has full integration with it Magics software. This link offers part and revision control and automation of repetitive tasks.
Materialise will showcase this new software system at RAPID, Atlanta, Georgia, May 22 – 24, with a dedicated booth organized by key operations in the additive manufacturing process.
