PROCENTEC launches Atlas industrial ethernet diagnostics system at Hannover Messe.
The whole point behind industrial automation is to reduce downtime and increase productivity, but not even machines are perfect. Ethernet systems are complex and require regular maintenance and upkeep to avoid problems like connectivity issues and other errors.
To simplify this process, PROCENTEC recently launched the Atlas industrial ethernet diagnostics system to prevent unexpected and expensive downtime in industrial networks.
The Atlas system is designed to provide unique insights and knowledge of networks and an overview of network health using several features, which can be accessed through a PC.
Using the Topology feature, users can view all devices in the network and how they’re connected. This also includes information on all separate devices, using status icons according to NAMUR standard to identify possible problems.
The Topology can be visualized in two different ways: the galaxy view, which is a comprehensive overview of the complete network, and a more traditional hierarchical tree view.

The Q-Factor feature is a weighted algorithm used to score the quality of a network, connecting to all the devices in it. There is also a Q-Factor included for individual devices.
The Q-Factor can be visualized with a number from 0 to 5000 according to the Automotive standard, or from 0 to 100 percent as a relative display of the quality of the network. Also included is a traffic light display, which is less detailed but allows a simple overview of network status in three colors.
The Atlas system can be installed via DIN rail, does not require additional software installations and is not vendor or protocol specific.
Additional features include:
- Customizable dashboard
- Device list
- Alarm notifications
- USB 2.0-support
- SD Card slot
