New products from igus, Kinetics Automation, Oriental Motor, Portescap and Nanomotion.
igus Linear Control System
igus has announced its dryve control device for linear systems. The D3 control system is suitable for all standard DC motors. Users can connect to the 24-volt power supply and parameterize the operating mode, end position switch off, acceleration and the motor via the DiP switch. The speed can be adjusted with a rotary controller. The current limiting is accomplished by means of a screwdriver by another controller. An LED display also indicates the current status of the control system to the user via various colors.

Kinetics Automation Linear Actuator
Kinetics Automation stated that its prototype KLA Linear Actuator has reached an important milestone: the actuator has been in operation holding a constant position for exactly one year.
The “long duration hold” test involves a prototype KLA Linear Actuator, a load cell and a position sensor arranged inside of a test apparatus. A KCA020 AC Controller is used as part of a simple position-feedback control loop while test telemetry is recorded using a data acquisition system.

Oriental Motor AC Motor Series
Oriental Motor has expanded its line-up of KIIS Series standard AC motors. The additions to the line-up include H1 food-grade grease in the gearhead and a stainless-steel output shaft for applications intended for food processing and/or packaging. In addition, the motors are available in 60 W (1/12 HP) and 100 W (1/8 HP) power output.

Portescap EC Brushless Motor
Portescap has launched its Ultra ECrange of brushless DC slotless motors, which includes the 35ECS motor. This 2-pole motor offers high speed and improved power (up to 330W, max continuous) without compromising the operation or device life. Furthermore, the motor has the company’s Ultra EC coil technology which provides efficient torque and power density with limited core losses over a range of working speeds without friction and brush wear.

Nanomotion Ceramic Servo Motor
Nanomotion has introduced EDGE, a tiny ceramic servo motor. EGDE provides 30 grams of thrust with a maximum operating velocity of 150mm/sec. Capable of driving linear or rotary motion, the motor is suited for applications in aerospace, medical devices and industrial automation. The Edge motor weighs .6 grams and operates at 8 Vrms. It is supported by the company’s dual axis ASIC which can function as a drive and control.
