New products from Aerotech, JVL, Oriental Motor, Rexroth and Thomson Industries.
Aerotech Brushless DM Stepper Motors
Aerotech has released its XC4 PWM digital drive, which is a single-axis motor drive designed for brushless DC, brush DC, voice coil and stepper motors at up to 340 VDC operating voltage and 30 A peak current. All versions are compatible with the Automation 3200 motion platform utilizing the HyperWire motion bus.
The digitally closed current loop and servo-loop ensure positioning accuracy and rate stability. This allows loop closure rates up to 20kHz as well as digital and analog I/O processing, data collection, process control and encoder multiplication tasks in real time.

JVL Integrated Stepper Motors
JVL has launched its NEMA line of integrated stepper motors. This series of motors is available with CAN bus, RS485, SSI, Industrial Ethernet Profinet, Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, Powerlink, Ethernet TCP, SercosIII , Absolute multiturn encoder, PLC 8IOA, clock/direction and STO.
Furthermore, the NEMA family has a velocity resolution of 0.01RPM for low speed operation and 409600 step/rev for increased precision. Upgraded shaft diameter, brakes and high IP protection make the motors suited for machine adjustment or other demanding applications.

OM Motors with Planetary PLE Gearheads
Oriental Motors (OM) has expanded its PKP2 series of stepper motors to include Neugart Planetary PLE gearheads. This line offers increased permissible torque, low backlash and higher thrust loads compared to previous designs.
The PLE planetary gearheads from Neugart are 25 percent lighter than similar gearheads with above-average weight to torque ratio (5:1, 10:1, 20:1 and 40:1). The low-friction bearing design with optimized lubrication, low backlash and high output torque makes the PLE gearhead suitable for complex and continuous production cycles.

Rexroth Radial Piston Motor
Rexroth has developed its MCR-S radial piston motor. Suited for chain drive applications, the motor provides efficient installation design and delivers increased power density, along with enhanced starting efficiency for smooth operation.
The MCR-S was specifically developed for motor displacements between 325cc, 470cc and 9-piston rotary group, contributing to an improved torque density. In practice, the 9-piston rotary group layout helps to limit the maximum vehicle travel speed.

Thomson Mounting Kit
Thomson Industries has unveiled its upgraded RediMount, a pre-engineered, modular adapter kit for installing motors or gears in less than five minutes. RediMount accommodates a range of motor types and sizes or gears, which can be mounted to linear motion systems and actuators with less time and effort.
According to Niklas Sjostrom, Product Line Manager at Thomson, “RediMount also includes updated smart part numbers with a specific motor ID, which reflect the motor or gear manufacturer and type.”
