New products from Interroll, NTN, Rexroth, SCHNEEBERGER and SKF.
Interroll Curved Roller Conveyor
Interroll has presented tapered elements for its curved roller conveyors that offer optimized fixing.Installing a roller conveyor curve is all about the details, which can have a large impact on the smooth flow of materials.
As is the case with cylindrical rollers, the material being conveyed is moved outward from speeds of around 0.8 meters per second, because the centrifugal force becomes greater than the frictional force. If the tapered elements were locked from the outside, interfering edges or points of interference would appear.

NTN Spherical Roller Bearings
NTN has introduced its ULTAGE spherical roller bearings. ULTAGE bearings contain an optimized surface finish and incorporate a window-type pressed steel cage without the center guide ring for higher rigidity, stability and better lubrication flow throughout the bearing. These design features allow for 20 percent higher limiting speeds when compared to conventional designs, reducing operating temperatures that extend lubrication intervals and keep production lines running longer.

Rexroth Planetary Screw Assemblies
Rexroth has launched its PLSA planetary screw assemblies. With dynamic load capacities of up to 544kN, the PLSAs transmit elevated forces quickly. Equipped with a system of pre-tensioned single nuts – cylindrical and with a flange – they achieve load ratings which are twice as high as conventional pre-tensioning systems. As a result, the nominal life of the PLSA is eight times longer.

SCHNEEBERGER Gear Racks
SCHNEEBERGER has announced a series of gear racks with a length of up to 3 meters, a range of configurations and various accuracy classes. The straight or helical gear racks are useful as a drive concept for complex linear motions in which high forces must be transmitted precisely and reliably.
Applications include: moving a machine tool gantry weighing several tons linearly, positioning a laser cutting head at top speed or driving a buckling arm robot with precision for welding operations.

SKF Hybrid Bearing Life Model
SKF has released its Generalized Bearing Life Model (GBLM) to help users and distributors select the right bearing for the right application.Until now, it has been difficult for engineers to predict whether a hybrid bearing will outperform a steel one in a given application, or whether the possible performance benefits that hybrid bearings enable are worth the extra investment they require.
To rectify this problem, the GBLM is able to determine the real-world benefits hybrid bearings can have. In the case of a poorly lubricated pump bearing, for instance, the rating life of a hybrid bearing can be up to eight times that of a steel equivalent.
