Low Code and No-Code Is the Future of Industrial Automation

Bosch Rexroth’s Mason Cole on simplifying machine control.

Many manufacturing operations large and small were historically wedded to a single supplier for machine controls. Whether it was Rexroth, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, FANUC, ABB or others, the complexity of programming and managing PLCs and higher-level controllers made standardization an advantage. Today, a new generation of low-code and no-code solutions makes it easier for companies to support multiple platforms, and also addresses the critical shortage of engineers in the industry. Bosch Rexroth regional sales manager Mason Cole describes the environment to Jim Anderton at Automate 2023.
