Link3D unveils AMWatch, a tool for better AM machine visibility

Link3D announced the launch of its AMWatch IoT Platform. AMWatch will enable the direct interaction with additive manufacturing machines to monitor the progress of builds, derive insights from sensor data, and improve and automate quality management systems.

The information from AMWatch is connected to Link3D MES with dashboards, and provides real-time machine updates to enable production decisions. Customers can visually observe operating conditions of the printer remotely.  The data gathered can help pinpoint manufacturing anomalies and trends throughout the production process that can impact quality.

The real-time data repository becomes the back-bone for quality system analytics to allow for the identification of root causes of part defects.

Highlights of AMWatch include:

–Real-time visibility of environmental conditions that can impact part quality and can monitor job completion status

–Aggregation of data across technology platforms to compile the data-set for predictive analytics

–Historical build and production information allow for statistical process control (SPC) to guide qualification requirements

Stratasys VP of Product Software, Paul Giaconia, says: “Stratasys understands the need for a connected factory floor and is building the smart factory of the future with our Printer Connectivity Strategy.  Together, we are bringing Stratasys GrabCAD SDK’s to the market in partnership with Link3D’s AMWatch. The combination of our products addresses joint customers’ challenges including automated production quality insights across the factory floor, dynamic scheduling, and optimization of throughput.”

Mirco Schöpf, Product Line Manager Software at EOS states: “As a valued member of the EOS Developer Network, Link3D advances digitalization of additive manufacturing. Key success factors of a scalable digital production are the ease of integration and a single source of truth for production and quality data. AMWatch can be seamlessly integrated with EOS’ open APIs. This will allow our customers to optimize their production real time and to make sound decisions based on what is happening in the factory.”

Link3D Co-founder and CTO, Vishal Singh, says: “AMWatch can improve visibility to the additive production environment and provide more robust analytics for real-time decision making— ultimately leading to improved manufacturing yield rates, quality systems, and machine utilization. Link3D’s new product will enable organizations to establish the foundation of a data-driven additive manufacturing ecosystem.”
