Link3D expands collaboration with EOS GmbH

Link3D, announces it will be expanding its collaboration with EOS GmbH, the leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers.

This is an expansion from earlier last year when EOS North America announced its implementation of the Link3D system to provide its clients with an enhanced customer experience. By centralizing additive manufacturing (AM) workflows globally, EOS will be able to track and trace in real-time all benchmark requests, scheduled jobs, machine setup and post-production quality data across EOS sites in Krailling, Germany; as well as Pflugerville and Novi, USA. EOS can review key metrics at a facility level or on a global scale to identify opportunities that will enable new market development in cost and production management control.

One of the largest financial gains in additive manufacturing is achieved by maximizing the productivity of the 3D printing system. This requires an AM tailored production planning system due to the unique requirements of 3D printing. Some challenges include very different build times (hours to days), complex build jobs (complex part combinations), impact of 3D printing system and post-processing on part quality, and impact of number of operator shifts. Therefore Link3D with their MES system and EOS with additive manufacturing expertise make ideal collaboration partners.

Through this collaboration, Link3D and EOS will allow: 1) Customers to tour the EOS benchmarking facilities around the globe and evaluate AM workflows to streamline EOS production, and 2) Customers to take advantage of EOS machine connectivity using EOSCONNECT that will be integrated with Link3D’s scheduling software for real-time and in-process monitoring of the build environment for production management purposes.
This provides an excellent opportunity for EOS customers to understand how AM workflow software can be flexible to support businesses starting with one or many EOS systems across all of its factories. Link3D Additive MES enables users to visualize their AM workflows from order submission until delivery, connecting all sites digitally thus improving end-to-end transparency, reducing turnaround times and offering a superior customer experience. This ties well into EOS’ holistic solution for industrial 3D printing and empowers customers to understand the true potential of additive manufacturing for production.

“Our machine connectivity program with EOS will enhance Link3D’s Production Scheduling software,” shares Vishal Singh, Co-Founder & CTO of Link3D, “With real-time monitoring, EOS customers can perform real-time capacity planning. To add, In-process monitoring integrated with a quality management systems will help businesses automate the validation of fixed workflow process requirements across EOS production systems.”

With machine connectivity, users can do real-time job or order monitoring through a centralized production scheduling system. This will help to identify build progress and when issues must be resolved. Organizations can also opt-in for “in-process monitoring” to help businesses seamlessly capture and validate workflows and quality data to meet customer regulatory requirements for AS9100, ISO9001, ITAR, SAE, EN:13485, and others. This software will give both EOS and EOS customers a scalable solution for their internal AM workflow processes. For this, security is always a key driver: EOS and Link3D are committed to enable the secure data transfer between the cloud and the factory and to ensure high levels of cybersecurity.
