LINK Appoints Bob Evans as VP of Strategy

Dr. Marcel Mathissen joins as lead of research and development for Europe.

PLYMOUTH, MI, Nov 6, 2024 – Link Engineering announced the hire of vice president of strategy, Bob Evans, and lead of research and development for Europe, Dr. Marcel Mathissen.

Bob Evans has spent his career in the automotive OEM and Tier 1 supplier market as a global customer and business development leader. Bob began his career as a Program/Sales Engineer with GMs Delphi Division with his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later went on to excel in roles of increasing responsibility at LucasVarity, TRW and ZF Friedrichshafen as the Vice President of Sales and Commercial Management. Bob’s most recent role before joining LINK was with Gru Energy, a start-up company in San Jose, CA focused on Li-ion battery materials designed to reduce EV charge time and increase range. He holds an MBA with a focus in Finance and his experience refining leading-edge product technology roadmaps has led to successful global customer strategies that delivered new business growth.

Marcel Mathissen holds a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry with a strong focus on non-exhaust emissions. He comes to LINK from his role as Research Scientist at Ford Motor Company, where in 2021 he was honored with Ford’s highest internal research award. Marcel has led Ford’s advancement in areas such as non-exhaust emissions, while also having the opportunity to contribute to the industry as a whole. Several publicly funded projects he has led include:

  • Low particle Emissions and lOw Noise Tyres (LEON-T)
  • Adaptive ADAS to support incapacitated drivers Mitigate Effectively risks (ADAS&ME)
  • LOW environmental impact BRAke SYStem (LOWBRASYS)
