Leica Launches DISTO D5, X6 Laser Distance Meters

Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, has introduced two new top-of-the-line handheld laser distance meters: the Leica DISTO D5 and DISTO X6. Powered by the latest measuring technology, the new DISTO models boast faster and more accurate measurements, gesture-triggered distance readings, and superior outdoor performance, as well as greater durability and extended battery life. The upgrades and new features optimize workflows for architectural engineers, tradespeople and contractors through improved efficiency and ease-of-use.

Leica DISTO D5 digital Pointfinder for outdoor measurements

The two new devices include an industry-first feature: users can trigger measurements by simply interrupting the laser beam with their hand. This removes the risk of moving the device when pressing a button, giving the DISTO D5 and X6 unrivalled long-distance precision.

The DISTO D5 and X6 offer 1 millimeter (mm) accuracy and a maximum range of 200 meters (m) and 250 m respectively. They provide exceptional outdoor measuring performance thanks to their integrated digital Pointfinder and high-resolution display that comes with a zoom function. Both devices are equipped with Bluetooth for seamless integration with the DISTO Plan App.

Leica DISTO X6 capture 3D data and process them in any CAD software

The DISTO X6, the most advanced device in the DISTO range, can be paired with the smart DST 360-X tripod adapter, enabling point-to-point (P2P) measurements. This provides a safe, accurate and efficient method to capture distance measurements in inaccessible areas or complex measuring situations. The device can also create its own DXF and CSV files, providing CAD support while avoiding the need to bring a laptop to site.
