KMC Connect Lite reduces customer setup and configuration time by up to 75 percent.
KMC Controls recently teamed up with Kony to launch their new Mobile App, KMC Connect Lite, with IoT technology.
This is the first of a series, in which KMC plans to use Kony’s cloud-based Platform for future app and IoT solution development.
The Connect Lite app uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to allow configuration, customization and commissioning of controller devices without powering the controller. Since the box does not need to be opened, the field service technician can simply put their mobile device on the surface of the box and write the settings from there, via NFC.
In working with Kony, KMC can use just one code base to develop applications for both iOS and Android.
The Kony MobileFabric allows KMC to modify their apps based on customer demand and create back-end micro-services for the Commander system. By applying analytics, using accumulated data provided by the Kony Platform and saved to the Kony Cloud, KMC obtains information on customer app usage, including app usage location, time spent on individual screens and most popular functions.
With this partnership, KMC can utilize Kony’s cross-platform architecture to maximize mobility power and get optimal use of IoT technology.
The KMC Connect Lite app allows customers to reduce system configuration and setup time by up to 75 percent.
“The KMC Connect Lite mobile application that Kony helped us build is a game changer for our customers,” said Richard Newberry, chief executive officer, KMC Controls.
“KMC Controls is focused on providing innovative and intuitive solutions and our mobile app saves an enormous amount of time, improves margins and helps our customers gain competitive advantage. What used to take customers four days to configure and install a system is now down to just a few hours.”
“To continue our leadership in manufacturing, we’re building an ecosystem optimized to deliver IoT solutions that deliver genius buildings and facilities,” said Newberry. “We chose Kony to be part of this ecosystem because of their world-class expertise and market-leading platform. With Kony, we can develop mobile applications that can revolutionize building automation.”
KMC Controls will be participating in the AHR Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada to showcase their latest products Jan 30 – Feb 1, 2017.
