Austin, TX — Citius Corporation announces their software integrates with AutoCAD® 2010 and SolidWorks® 2010. By combining KBMax with these applications, companies expect acceleration and improvement of design practices. More efficient engineering will mean lower costs and higher profits.
Citius combined Knowledge Based Engineering and Configurator programming to create KBMax. This hybrid Knowledge Based Configurator (KBC) software automates all phases of the production cycle. KBMax streamlines design, manufacturing, and sales processes for companies that create custom engineered products.
KBMax automates the creation of CAD models and drawings for users of AutoCAD®. Simple inputs into the KBMax interface will rapidly generate custom AutoCAD designs. The KBMax integration reduces repetitive manual tasks in AutoCAD. The result allows more time for design innovation while lowering engineering expenses.
“KBMax lets AutoCAD® 2010 link parametric models with complex product rules,” said Citius Chief Technical Officer Kevin Bennett. “We are excited for all the possible ways engineers will use this unique tool. We plan on integrating with AutoDesk Inventor® 2010 early next year to bring these same benefits to Autodesk 3D CAD space.“
Citius currently offers 3D CAD automation through Solidworks 2010®. Engineers input custom rules and constraints into KBMax that generate instant Solidworks models. This obvious boost to SolidWorks efficiency caused KBMax to be recently recognized as a SolidWorks Solution Partner Product.
“Engineers spend precious time on software complexity and potential problems with jumping between separate applications,” said Nick Iwaskow of SolidWorks Corp. “Combining KBMax’s configurator with SolidWorks® 2010 3D CAD enables engineers to focus on innovation, quality, and efficiency instead of how to use software.”
CAD automation is a vital benefit of KBMax, but other advantages are clear. KBMax automates all required manufacturing outputs for each custom design. Designs link to databases to produce instant bills of materials and price quotes. Using KBMax with AutoCAD2010 and Solidworks 2010 won’t just enhance engineering, it will power profitability.
