Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will maintain close contact with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project development to identify and implement electrical equipment repairs and reliability improvements.
Design and specify electrical equipment such as motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 138kV).
Coordinate projects for new or replacement equipment among engineering, maintenance, and operations.
Commissioning, startup assistance, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel.
Relocation assistance available. $120K-$150K.
Requirements
The Electrical Engineer will have a BSEE or MSEE and 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in a chemical plant or refinery.
Experience in the areas of field support with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving.
Systems with voltages: 138kV, 35kV, 15kV, 4.16kV, 2.4kV and low voltage.
Schweitzer and GE protective relays. Power management systems. Circuit breaker technologies: SF6 gas, vacuum, and air Standby & emergency generators. Power factor correction capacitors and systems. Cathodic protection hardware and systems. Motor operated valves (MOVs).
Familiarity with SKM Modeling software.
Familiarity with Steam turbine generators and Cogen units.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, application of the National Electric Code, NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in The Workplace), NFPA 70B (Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), API RP-500 (Recommended Practice for Classification of Locations for Electrical Installations).
Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
