The City of Sylvania is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as the Deputy Director of Public Service. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our city’s infrastructure and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the managerial needs of all public service departments.
• Serve as the “City Engineer” of the Engineering Department and GIS Coordinator.
• Administer and implement capital improvement plans.
• Oversee all phases of civil and municipal engineering, including cost estimating, planning, contract management, detailed design, construction, and construction administration.
• Manage municipal finance and maintain financial and official records.
• Communicate effectively with departmental staff and the general public.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum of five years of experience in civil and municipal engineering.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Ohio
• In-depth knowledge of cost estimating, planning, contract management, detailed design, construction, and construction administration.
• AutoCAD is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience in municipal finance and record-keeping.
• This is an in-office position Monday through Friday.
