Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking to fill the vacancy of a Utilities Engineer in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for leading utility coordination under the Interstate Bridge Replacement (IBR) program. In this role, you will work with project Utilities and design teams to ensure that utilities are identified early-on in the IBR project development process, that all project impacts are clearly communicated to the utility companies, and that plans to relocate these utilities, if impacted by the projects, are included in the project scope, schedule, and budget. In addition, the Utilities Engineer will coordinate with region offices to track needed utility franchises, easements, permits, and agreements within WSDOT and ODOT rights of way. The incumbent will work with DOT staff and consultants to deliver assigned tasks, which includes consultant procurement and management, project development, stakeholder and community outreach, bi-state region and HQ support office coordination, and construction support for tasks assigned. This position requires accurate and timely work in order to keep the estimated $6 billion Interstate Bridge Replacement (IBR) program moving forward and to meet the department’s goals.
