The Challenge
We're looking for an entry-level Survey Engineering Technician to join our Survey team.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Support senior survey technicians and engineers in route location surveying.
  • Perform standardized and non-standardized tasks and assignments compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data.
  • Perform calculations and computations.
  • Work inside and outside.
  • Basic field and office technical assignments relating to highway route location surveys of projects.
  • Survey instrument operations and CADD/computer operations in the surveying and creation of plan sheets and survey data, including hydraulic surveys, complex horizontal alignments and setting photogrammetric controls, property condemnation, and Global Positioning System (GPS) field work.
  • Operate Electronic Engineering Survey and CADD equipment.
  • Complete courthouse research.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.
 
What You Bring
  • Communications skills to convey technical information verbally by handheld radio.
  • Basic internet skills, such as online property searches.
  • Basic math skills, including geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions by others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in less complex assignments, such as collecting data or photogrammetric/topographical features in the field for plan sheet preparation.
 
Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum; or
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
