BIM Technician– Electrical Building Services, Revit MEP
Working under the direct supervision of a project engineer, the chosen candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of projects including healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and many others.
Education: College diploma from an architectural or electrical building services program; or a related field with relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Preparing technical drawings and specifications, using Revit MEP
  • Coordinate/review design details with other building disciplines
  • Works under the supervision of the Project Manager/Engineer.
  • Adhere to company BIM standards.
  • Perform assigned tasks within a given time.
  • Prepare Revit drawings from sketches, CAD, mark-ups of electrical building systems.
  • Verify modelled content against sketches/markups to ensure accuracy of work.
  • Familiar with structural, architectural, and mechanical models to appreciate space limitations and interferences.
  • Develop various electrical systems layouts in co-ordination with the structural, architectural, and mechanical components of a building.
  • Check layouts of electrical services for interferences with other components of the building
Requirements:
  • 1 + years of direct industry experience in a similar role using Revit MEP
  • Possess excellent Revit MEP modeling skills
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, fire alarm, lighting, security, communications is an asset.
  • A team player who is highly motivated, with good communication skills.
  • Experience with shared parameters, scheduling, family editing, etc. is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD an asset.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accept direction; flexible, adaptable, and have a positive attitude.
