HTG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated 4G/5G core engineer to join our dynamic team. As a 4G/5G core engineer, you will be responsible for the testing and validation of 4G/5G core components and solutions. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the performance, functionality, and interoperability of 4G/5G core components and configurations.
 
In this role, you will: 

• Expert-level knowledge of systems engineering concepts (definition and analysis for requirements, performance, capacity, availability, reliability, scalability, etc.)
• You will be a subject matter expert for Service Engineering a subset of the new 5G Standalone Core as well EPC (4G).
• Experience with OpenStack cloud operating system, Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Telecom and networking experience (4G & 5G Mobile Core Networks, 3GPP standards), Cloud native experience (Kubernetes and associated tools, CI/CD, DevOps and Agile methodologies).
• Private LTE Experience is required for both on prem and in cloud.
• Hands-on work on 5GCore Network including deployments and configuration, testing and troubleshooting, data collection (Desired & Preferred).
• Background and hands-on experience with Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network functions is highly desirable as a foundation for new, improved, and evolved service implementations in 5GC including PCF interactions with AMF, SMF, CHF, UDR, NEF and trusted AFs.
• Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• In depth experience installing, configuring, and administering Kubernetes distributions Experience with Docker containers, experience with other containerization technology is an asset Experience with complex IT infrastructure architecture planning, design, and implementation.
• AWS public cloud experience in development and architecture.
• Utilize various software tools to proactively identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies with various key performance indicators (KPIs), log messages, call flows, and raw packets.
• Strong experience in virtualized environment with hands-on experience on Linux/KVM Hypervisors and Open Stack, Kubernetes, and Docker with excellent debug skills.
• Perform all aspects of network engineering including network design, performance monitoring, integration, upgrade and troubleshooting of EPC(4G) & 5G SA cores.

 
Required skills and experience:

• Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 3 to 4 years of related, hands-on experience in performance management and network and service assurance in 4G/5G networks
• Knowledge and experience in developing/deploying cloud native micro-services in Kubernetes is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentations skills
• Ability to interpret and develop detailed network/system drawing and excellent problem solving/analytical skills
• Knowledge & experience with VPN, IPsec, SCTP, TLS, IPv4, and IPv6, and Routing Protocols/technologies. Ansible Tower, Playbook, REST API knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge & experience with platforms framework and Operating Systems: Linux/Unix, Windows, Cloud Native (CN), Kubernetes (K8s), Grafana, Kibana, Jaeger, Jenkins, Selenium, HP Rack-mount server & Server Blade platform. CNE (OpenShift or VMWare or Oracle), Openstack, and Kubernetes
• Advantage Certifications CKA/CKAD/CKS and/or Certifications of Cloud like AWS and/or Terraform Certified would be an added advantage
