P.K. Read Engineering Ltd (PKR). is located in Pemberton, BC. It is one of the fastest growing communities in British Columbia, with a population growth of over 32% in the last five years. The village is conveniently located 25 minutes north of the world-renown ski and mountain bike Resort Municipality of Whistler and 2 hours away from the city of Vancouver.
Situated in a picturesque mountainous valley, Pemberton not only provides exciting and unique geotechnical engineering work, but offers endless recreational opportunities.

About the owner:
Phill Read (PR) has a mining and heavy civil contractor background. With increasing demand for geotechnical services for residential projects in the Pemberton area, PR created P.K. Read Engineering Ltd. in 2000.
Over the past 24 years, PKR has generated excellent relationships with many local organizations and individuals. PKR is based in Pemberton and offers geotechnical services typically within the local area including Whistler, Lillooet Lake communities, Birkenhead Valley, Lillooet, and Bridge River communities.

About the applicant:
The successful applicant would be working with PR in Pemberton for an initial period, with a view towards ultimately taking over the company’s Pemberton projects within the next few years. The immediate position would include being able to take on personally, as an Engineer of Record, any new projects whilst PR completes ongoing projects.

Requirements for the applicant:

• P. Eng status (transferable to British Columbia)
• Experience in Geotechnical Engineering
• Some experience in soils and/or hazard assessment
• Interest in leading a group or working independently
