Responsibilities
  • The Reliability Engineer will support goal zero performance by proactively driving reliability centered HSE improvements at the site and following all health and safety policies.
  • Perform technical studies on equipment/processes and develop the improvement strategies to close gaps in availability, reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.
  • Use Reliability tools: Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) modeling, and/or Life Cycle Cost Analysis.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis efforts using tools such as 5-Why, ABS Root Cause, Causal Learning, and TOP methodology.
  • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and high-impact failures that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators such as lost profit opportunities, bad actors, and MTBR (Mean Time Between Repair) benchmarking to promote improvement.
  • Relocation provided. $130K-$175K.
Requirements:
  • The Reliability Engineer will have a BSME or MSME and 5+ years of experience in technical or operations roles in a refinery, petrochemical, or similar facility.
  • Familiarity with national codes and standards such as API, ANSI, and ASME.
  • Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), bad actor troubleshooting, Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  • Familiarity with Reliability Engineering work processes and tools (MTA, RCM, Weibull, CMMS).
  • Experience with codes and standards relating to rotating, fixed, and electrical equipment.
  • Experience leading and facilitating reliability studies both independently and in team settings.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certifications a plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
