Job Description:

Role Description: This is a full-time office role for a Civil/Structural Designer. The Civil/Structural Designer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to Civil/Structural engineering, creating concepts, layouts, general arrangements, and civil, and structural detailed drawings. 
 
Qualifications: • Associate degree in a technical discipline civil/structural preferred • Minimum 5 years of design experience in the facilities industry (industrial, oil & gas, energy) • Excellent skills using AutoCAD. Knowledge of other software such as Advance Steel, Revit, and Plant 3D is desirable. • Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate technical solutions effectively. • Working knowledge of codes and standards • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. • Able to present a portfolio of past work. Key 
 
Responsibilities/Accountabilities: • 8+ years design experience utilizing AutoCAD 3D Software including; • AutoCAD, Revit, Advance Steel • Facilities engineering (industrial, oil & gas, and energy) experience is highly desired • Create concepts, layouts, general arrangements, civil, and structural detailed drawings • Performs drafting checks on design drawings • Coordinates work with other disciplines and has a general understand of their work • Excellent interpretation of complex civil and/or structural designs • Ability to check design and fabrication drawings • Coordinate, review, and utilize vendor drawings • Ability to develop material take-offs • Ability to assist in development of engineering estimates • Effective communication skills, works well in a team environment, and is accountable • Strives to improve knowledge, accuracy, and productivity daily • Collects and prepares data/information and generates design and detail drawings • Assists in fieldwork, checking installations, and able to problem solve during construction activities • Interacts with clients to convey project design and identify scope changes • Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain relevant information
