Job Description:

Role Description: This is a full-time remote role for a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to mechanical engineering, machine design, computer-aided design (CAD), project management, and research and development (R&D). 
 
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program. • Minimum 5 years' experience in the design of industrial plants (Oil, Gas, Chemical preferred). • Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE). Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Bentley). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with leading discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, and ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills. • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications. • Ability to travel for short periods. • Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred • Excellent skills using AutoCAD software are preferred. 
 
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: • Lead the mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. • Prepare mechanical equipment specifications and datasheets, RFQs, bid summaries, and equipment purchase recommendations. • Participate in project management tasks such as scoping, scheduling, budgets, and construction planning. • Applies expert knowledge of commonly used mechanical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry. • Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects and finds non-standard design solutions. • Quality review of drawings for various projects to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software. • Construction administration tasks include coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, field visits, field inspections, and testing of mechanical systems. • Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met. • Lead the development of cost proposals. • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance. • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to mechanical engineering practice. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers. • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. • Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines. • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies • Performs other duties as assigned.
