Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking two skilled leaders to act as Assistant Region Environmental & Hydraulic Managers with the Olympic Region (OR) Environmental & Hydraulics (EHS) Office. The OR EHS Office is a multidisciplinary group of programs, including Biology, Roadside Restoration, Documentation/Permits, Major Environmental Documents, Fish Passage, Maintenance Support, and Hydraulics. This role contributes to the agency’s mission and Environmental goal by incorporating environmental protection & improvements into the day-to-day operations of the Region, as well as development of the Region’s transportation plans and facilities. They will ensure the transportation system serves the public by incorporating environmental protection and stewardship principles and compliance with environmental and hydraulic laws, regulations, policies, and practices. This Assistant Region EHS Manager provides staff a balanced workplace, which promotes training and development for professional growth and upward mobility, employee safety, workforce diversity, and pride in ownership. This position works effectively and collaboratively with various federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, tribal government, stakeholders, and the public to resolve complex environmental issues.
