Summary: As the Manufacturing Engineer at Schwan Cosmetics USA, you will be an integral part of our production team, working to optimize and enhance our manufacturing processes. Your role is critical in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of cosmetic products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply engineering principles, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals and maintain product excellence.

Reports To: Senior Manufacturing Engineer or Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimization:

  • Analyze and evaluate current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies and solutions to optimize production workflows and minimize waste.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address quality issues.

Production Support:

  • Provide technical support to production teams, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to implement Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Identify and drive initiatives for process improvements, cost reduction, and waste elimination.

Equipment and Technology:

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new manufacturing equipment and technologies to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of process changes, improvements, and project updates.
  • Generate reports and data analyses to measure and communicate manufacturing performance.

Health and Safety:

  • Prioritize safety in all manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in safety audits and hazard assessments.

Experience: 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks in a manufacturing/production work environment. 3+ years of machine/mechanical/facility design. 3+ manufacturing process development. Working knowledge of machine components, PLC, pneumatics & hydraulics, machine processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
