We are seeking a Resident Engineer with IDOT inspection experience to join our Civil Engineering firm in Chicago! Qualifications and responsibilities for this Resident Engineer opportunity include:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of inspection experience in bridge, highway and roadway projects, including construction inspections for IDOT projects
- Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license and Documentation of Quantities Certification (DOQ) required
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans and specifications
- Supervise construction projects, including highway/roadway works, and oversee field activities, ensuring technical compliance and safety
- Manage project documentation, maintain accurate records, and handle contractor negotiations and communications.
- Monitor project progress, review reports, and coordinate with the project team to address delays or issues.
- Lead Construction Inspection and office engineering staff, approve contractor payments, and contribute to contract close-outs and business development activities

Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus bonus potential.
