Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to support the delivery of the construction program by supervising a team of transportation engineers and technicians to perform skilled engineering tasks on design-build and build-bid-build construction projects. This position applies engineering principles and procedures to solve complex transportation problems, working independently to identify critical issues, monitor construction progress, identify changes, evaluate work for conformance with contract requirements, and monitor performance of project’s quality program. This position provides leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring; assigns tasks to engineers and technicians; establishes expectations; monitors work; provides performance feedback; and holds staff accountable for delivering acceptable results. Additionally, this position is a representative of WSDOT with local agencies, contractors, consultants, and the public.
