Job Description:

If you are interested in serving local communities and making positive impacts to the real world using your structural engineering knowledge and skills, LCRA has an opportunity for you as an Engineering Associate in the Structural and Civil Engineering Department! This position offers you excellent opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on project experience under the supervision of a group of seasoned engineers and technical experts. You will have the unique opportunity to be involved in the whole project cycle from conceptual design, to detailed design, and construction oversight. You will work on the structural design and analysis of new and existing substation structures and telecommunications towers all over the state of Texas.

This is a hybrid position. Posted salary is anticipated and not official.

You will be trusted to:

Under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer, you will be expected to
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations for electric substation structures, telecommunication towers, and their corresponding foundations utilizing software such as RISA 3D, TNX Tower, and other foundation analysis software,
• Use your creativity to design and detail new structures as well as retrofit existing ones,
• Conduct project site visits and document field observations,
• Communicate and work closely with multiple disciplines and stakeholders across LCRA,
• Take ownership of individual projects schedules and scopes.

You qualify with:

- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus one or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.  
- Driver's license

You are a great fit with:

• 3 or more years of design and analysis experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with foundation design and analysis, both shallow and deep foundations.
• Experience with structural steel design and analysis.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) and are a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or seeking EIT, and eventual PE licensure.
• You are a great fit if you are comfortable multi-tasking across a range of deliverables, asking questions, and will independently track down answers.
• Individual qualities such that you are well organized, resourceful, creative, and collaborative.
