GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 
We are seeking an experienced Test Systems Engineer with expertise in process control, in-circuit and final assembly test system design, application programming, and an ability to continuously improve the product design and manufacturing process.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the product testing to ensure a high level of product quality through the design and development of efficient test systems and development of application programming solutions.
 
Your knowledge and skills will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency and quality, throughout our manufacturing operations. Test systems will be developed in conjunction with our contract manufactured in their Asian facilities therefore remote communication is key to successful deployment of these systems.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Test System Design
 
  • Design and develop in-circuit and final assembly test systems for electronic products.
  • Develop test systems for products containing digital, analogue and RF functional blocks.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and cross-functional teams to define and author test requirements, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, select appropriate test equipment and software tools, and oversee the integration and validation of test systems.
  • Optimize test processes for efficiency, accuracy, and reliability, ensuring comprehensive coverage of product functionality and performance.
  • Utilizes the test system data to perform statistical analysis, including Cp, Cpk, and other relevant metrics, to assess process capability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for yield improvement.
 
Application Programming
 
  • Develop and maintain application program interfaces (APIs) and software solutions to support manufacturing processes and automation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into efficient and effective software solutions.
  • Conduct testing and debugging of application programs, ensuring their functionality and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance teams on the use and troubleshooting of application programs.
 
Continuous Improvement
 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and cycle time reduction.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and apply Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement process changes, conduct training sessions, and ensure effective adoption of new processes or equipment.
 
 
 
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong object oriented and software development skills (e.g. Python, C++) for application development and automation.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis software and tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel).
  • Familiarity with electronic components, circuit boards, and assembly processes to optimize test time and test coverage.
  • RF test equipment experience with equipment such as network and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing in-circuit and final assembly test systems.
  • Strong knowledge of process capability indices (Cp, Cpk) and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation technologies and equipment (e.g., robotics, PLCs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Experience in the Azure engineering workspace.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
