GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 
We are looking for an exceptional Supplier Quality Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the Operations department by effectively managing quality expectations throughout our supply chain and driving improvements in supplier processes and the internal transfer of products through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. This role requires a deep understanding of the electronic manufacturing industry and a commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of products and services supplied by external vendors.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1-      Supplier Quality Management:
 
  • Lead supplier assessment, qualification, and selection efforts based on industry-specific quality standards and performance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to choose suppliers that meet rigorous quality requirements.
Ensure that suppliers are fully qualified to meet our operational and quality expectations.
 
2-        Quality Standards and Compliance:
 
  • Define, communicate, and enforce strict quality standards, procurement specifications, and inspection criteria for suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop comprehensive documentation necessary for suppliers to meet quality requirements.
 
 
3-        Supplier Audits and Performance Enhancement:
 
  • Lead and conduct comprehensive supplier audits (both on-site and virtual) to evaluate quality management systems, process control methods, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Continuously monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive actions to address issues.
  • Coordinate and lead Quality Business Reviews (QBRs) for key suppliers.
 
 
4-        Quality Issue Resolution:
 
  • Investigate and resolve complex quality issues related to supplied products or services.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to implement effective corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.
 
5-        Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
 
  • Identify and spearhead opportunities for process improvements in supplier operations to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
 
6-        Documentation and Reporting:
 
  • Maintain comprehensive records of supplier assessments, audits, and actions taken for quality improvement.
  • Generate and present regular reports on supplier quality performance, communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
 
7-        Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:
 
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement, to resolve quality-related issues and streamline processes.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with suppliers, internal teams, and management to ensure alignment on quality goals and expectations.
 
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar professional certification is a significant asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the electronic manufacturing industry, with a strong background in supplier quality engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, quality control methodologies, and tools (e.g., SPC, CAPA, Gauge R&R, etc.).
  • Proven experience in conducting comprehensive supplier audits and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a track record of driving quality improvements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to quality management.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
