Lead Electrical Engineer - Aviation & Federal Global Practice

Do you want to guide a team of talented engineers while staying connected to the market pulse? This position offers a dynamic blend of leadership and technical expertise. You'll lead our Aviation & Federal Global Practice's Electrical Department (approx. 10 direct reports), ensuring top-notch quality in designs and deliverables. You'll also dedicate a portion of your time to business development or technical support, keeping you engaged with the market and fostering client relationships.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Champion a culture of excellence by setting high standards for electrical and low voltage design.
  • Mentor and coach your team, providing constructive feedback and fostering growth.
  • Proactively address performance issues and project quality concerns.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  • Hold mid-year and year-end performance reviews, contributing to the department's overall success.

Technical Expertise & Project Management:

  • Serve as a technical advisor, offering senior-level insights and project evaluations.
  • Assist in establishing project goals, milestones, and procedures.
  • Coordinate project resources and monitor progress across the company.
  • Manage staff utilization and track progress towards individual billability goals.

Collaboration & Business Development:

  • Support sales and marketing efforts by assigning staff to proposals, presentations, and related tasks.
  • Partner with Regional Office staff on development, quality control, and resource coordination.
  • Leverage your experience to contribute to business development, building strong client relationships.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or management experience.
  • Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (strongly preferred).
  • Prior Consulting experience (strongly preferred).
