As a key member of our dedicated group, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production ramp-up of existing military aircraft through the implementation of cutting-edge design changes.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Support the production ramp-up by providing upgrades to tooling, assembly jigs, installation tools, temporary tooling, and job aides to enhance efficiency and quality in aircraft build-up, section assembly, and final mate activities.
- Tackle manufacturing issues by integrating solutions with other support functions, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- Showcase your technical prowess in aircraft assembly, build, and sheet metal work, as well as your experience in supporting new aircraft development or upgrades. Develop tools to achieve rate production.
- Assess and coordinate corrective actions for various aspects of the build sequence, system installation, planning/ops card sequence, and in-process testing requirements.
- Troubleshoot operations, implement shortage workarounds, address "out of station" rework, and manage change incorporation effectively.
- Collaborate with other support functions such as Quality, Planning, Engineering, and Liaison to resolve issues at build work centers and enhance overall process efficiency and quality.
- Identify, develop, and provide training/lessons learned for touch labor, peer Manufacturing Engineers, and support functions.
- Take the lead in quality issue coordination, Material Review Board (MRB), rework/repairs, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts.
Key Experience Needed:
- Extensive experience in manufacturing sub-assemblies and major aircraft level assemblies.
- Proficiency in wiring and systems installation and testing.
- Hands-on experience in structural installations, control linkage systems installations, panel/door installations, and flight control surfaces installations.
- In-depth knowledge of assembly tooling, production aides, and various assembly tools (handheld and fixture driven).
- Familiarity with manufacturing planning/work instructions and a commitment to continuous improvement to meet requirements from engineering drawings.
- Bonus points for experience with F-16, F-18, F-22, F-35, or C-130, and/or prior production ops experience at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
