POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Secure Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for assisting with the administration and maintenance of classified automated information systems (AIS) at various clearance levels. The Secure (SA) shall:
• Ensure the AIS is properly configured in accordance with requirements established by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems in accordance with the System Security Plan.
• Enforce security policies and safeguards pertaining to the AIS.
• Provide training and support to AIS users.
• Assist with required configuration changes, backups, and other maintenance activities.
• Enforce System Security Plans to limit vulnerabilities.
• Assess Security Controls as required by the ISSM.
• Perform spill mitigation and provide reports to the ISSM.
• Conduct continuous monitoring activities and recommend improvements.
• Assist with other security tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, OR a minimum of 3 years experience in information systems administration.
• Experience with Windows systems administration.
• Experience or familiarity with the Risk Management Framework.
• If required, willingness to submit to a counter-intelligence polygraph test.
• Security+ certification required within first six months.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance is required.
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• In-scope, final Department of Defense Secret clearance.
• Experience with JSIG and/or ICD system accreditation procedures.
• Experience administering classified networks.
• Knowledge of requirements for the transfer and storage of controlled unclassified information (CUI).
• Windows system troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with writing scripts to automate installation and configuration tasks.
• Familiarity with Information Technology systems such as Microsoft Active Directory, Hyper-V virtual server, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with COMSEC handling and accounting.
