About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Water Quality Modelling Specialist is responsible for providing technical input in their area of expertise and design, conduct and report on surface water and groundwater quality studies.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Undertake water quality and/or geochemical modelling, including water quality/balance simulations;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop new water quality models and update existing models
• Water quality data analysis and source term development
• Provide technical input to projects within your area(s) of expertise;
• Technical communications, including report writing and reviewing;
• Design, conduct, and report on surface water and groundwater quality studies;
• Develop and coordinate project specific work plans and assist in proposal development;
• Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals;
• Interact and liaise with clients and assessors/government regulators;
• Manage special projects that support the broad-based needs of a rapidly expanding company;
• Mentors junior staff; and
• All other related duties as required.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in a related science (geology, chemistry, environmental science, or engineering).
• 5+ years relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting with water quality/balance simulation (GoldSim) software.
• Familiarity with geochemical modelling (e.g., PHREEQC, Geochemist’s Workbench) an asset
• P.Geo. or P.Eng. accreditation or eligibility an asset
• ARD/ML characterization experience an asset
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite;
• Excellent written and oral communication
