Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge & Structures Office, Structural Design Unit is currently seeking to fill a Bridge Engineer 7 Seismic and Foundation Specialist position in Tumwater, WA. This position is relied upon for expert-level knowledge in substructure and seismic design practices. In addition, the person in this position will maintain and update office practices regarding substructure/seismic design through regular updates to the WSDOT Bridge Design Manual and provide training and supervision to less-experienced Engineers. The BE7 Seismic and Foundation Specialist will also perform as a Senior Structural Designer/Project Coordinator on major projects in the Design Group and will be assigned highly specialized design assignments as directed. This position will serve as the designated technical specialist in the field of substructure and seismic design as related to bridge and structural engineering. This position is the main resource for WSDOT and other governmental agencies in the field of its specialty.
