What You’ll Do:
As the Controls Engineer you will be responsible for the hardware and software design efforts to plan, develop, and execute on world-class automation solutions and exceed the quality expectations of customers.
 
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
  • Plans, develops, and designs control systems designs, utilizing AutoCAD, which include power distribution, PLC, main and station panel layouts, console layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Helps manage budgets and schedules, working with the Project Managers, to ensure the projects are within the budgeted cost and due dates.
  • Coordinates with the Controls Assembly Department during the build phases of the project to provide efficient and timely solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Collaborates and mentors the Controls Design Department through mentorship of Level I and Level II Controls Engineers to help build the competency of the team.
  • Facilitates formal and informal training on products and software to help the team learn and grow.
  • Participates as a team member during the installation phase of the project, helping debug software and ensure validation and outcome expectations are achieved.  
 
Position Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelors' Degree in engineering is desirable; will consider a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years’ experience in software and/or hardware design of manufacturing equipment or engineering experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Certifications: NA
  • Functional Skills: Solid skills in researching, planning, prioritizing and follow-through; natural ability to problem-solve and provide timely resolutions; knowledge of software and hardware design for manufacturing; strong attention to detail. Ability to manage to project due dates and budgets.
  • Technology Skills: Strong PC skills, with the ability to utilize AutoCAD, PLC’s, HMI’s, Robotics, Variable Frequency Drives, Linear Actuators, Servos, and other needed Hardware and Software.
  • Communication Skills: Basic verbal and written communication skills; able to present to and train others and communicate technical matters to all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Leadership/ Behaviors: Strong focus on customers and quality; able to work independently and within teams; ability to think, listen, reflect and create solutions; calm personality, who is collaborative and supportive of teams and customers.

Other Important Information:     
Pay/Salary:  Approximately $90,000 -130,000 annual salary opportunity.
  •  And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!
Reports To:    Engineering Manager                                                                                                            
Core Hours:  7:00 am – 4:30 pm (schedule can be slightly flexible)
Typical Work Week:  M-F; a few weekends; 45 hours a week on average
Direct Reports:     None
Travel:  10% (5 weeks a year Approximately)
