Eastern Sierra Engineering - Lead Geotechnical Engineer

A Lead Geotechnical Engineer will specialize in analyzing and designing solutions for the interaction of structures and natural materials, such as soil, rock, and groundwater. They work closely with other engineers, architects, and construction professionals to ensure that structures are built on solid foundations and that potential geotechnical hazards are identified and mitigated.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts geotechnical investigations and analysis to assess soil properties, stability, and foundation design for various projects.

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop geotechnical engineering solutions that align with project objectives, client requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Prepares detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for geotechnical aspects of projects.

  • Performs geotechnical field inspections, monitoring, and testing to ensure compliance with design specifications and construction quality.

  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.

  • Liaises with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address geotechnical engineering-related inquiries, concerns, and challenges.

  • Stays updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in geotechnical engineering.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the relevant jurisdiction.

  • Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, including foundation design, soil mechanics, slope stability analysis, and ground improvement techniques.

  • Strong proficiency in relevant software and tools for geotechnical analysis and design (e.g., AutoCAD, Geo5, LPile, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex geotechnical situations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $62,800 - $115,002.49 per year
