Position Summary 

The Engineering Technician III will be responsible for the company wide OSHA Safety program, facility management and maintenance, lab preparedness and cleanliness and inventory control. They collaborate with the Quality Engineer over the Lab to provide vision and leadership in long-range planning to ensure the preparedness of the lab to support contract measurements, contract research, internal research and product manufacturing.  The ideal candidate has proven ability to manage time constraints and conflicting priorities through effective problem-solving and communication skills. They will oversee compliance to established policies, procedures and guidelines. The Engineering Technician III will take on projects of their own as well as own the lab oversight activities. They will administer tasking through the Jira system and perform general HR activities such as approving timesheets and PTO requests as well as conducting annual performance evaluations for direct reports (1-2).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

MEASUREMENTS/MANUFACTORING

Oversees preparation for contract measurement and manufacturing assembly and quality assurance protocol. Establish measurement and QA goals and objectives for the lab. Familiar with calibration of measuring equipment.

 

LAB ENVIRONMENT

Takes ownership of and fully runs the OSHA Safety Program and meeting Lab quality goals.  Takes the lead in the development of forms and tools to increase lab efficiency and risk management. May delegate and oversee others performing this function. 

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Take on special projects from concept to completion. Effectively manage utilizing clear, direct, and respectful communication. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company. 

 

QA

Works with the Quality Engineer to oversee QA on in-coming equipment, supplies and materials.  Documents status and condition as well as performs the inventory intake and coding function. Documents as necessary in CTG systems and notifies all relevant parties.  Initiates remedies to correct, return, replace unwanted items. 

 

PACKING, SHIPPING

Responsible for packing and shipping of product sales items.  Oversees the process of sending the customer materials back to the customer after service.

INVENTORY

Works with Admin and other internal members to conduct a periodic inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.  Provides for the storage and storage conditions of the inventory.  Oversees the intake, storage and condition of customer materials.  

 

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Soldering, Equipment Calibration, Measuring Techniques, Lab Protocol, Electrical Equipment, Cable Integration, Safety Procedures, Quality Management, comfortable with circuits and technical systems similar to audio equipment

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

2-yr associates degree or other relevant certification, with at least 5 years technical experience, 2yrs people management experience; college degree and OSHA compliance certification are a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer software 

Multi-tasking, detail oriented, results driven, works well in teams and cross-functionally

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Work in a business office space that includes a lab and production environment

Adhere to all safety and regulatory protocols
