Business Location: 1742 Woodward Drive, Ottawa, ON K2C 0P8

Work location: Same as above and various clients’ locations across Ontario and Quebec within a maximum 2-hour drive from Ottawa.

Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent

Job Duties:

Inspect products to determine the requirements for repair

Install, maintain and repair electronic equipment

Inspect and test electronic equipment and assemblies

Repair or replace defective or worn parts and components

Diagnose and locate circuit, component and equipment faults

Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning

Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment and assemblies

Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports

Read blueprints and drawings

Support system testing (hardware and software) both in the field and at the monitoring locations

Guarantee the compliance of safety security measures when installations are done

Reading, understanding, and following product manuals

Educating customers on care and maintenance.

Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.

Responsible for updating team lead on the status of all work performed on a daily basis.

Notify team lead daily of any materials needed to complete duties.

Provide customer service at the company’s head office and on demand at customer sites

 

Requirements:

Education: Completion of a two- to three-year college program in electronics OR completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in electronic servicing and repair OR completion of high school or college courses in electronics is required.

Experience: At least three years of experience in electronic servicing and repair is required. On-the-job training is provided.

Previous experience handling confidential information is required due to the nature of our business.

Type of service and repair: Alarm/security system, Video cameras and projectors

Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, Networks, Wireless networks

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Work under pressure

Personal suitability: Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Organized, Reliability, Flexibility, Team player, Values and ethics

Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Work site environment: At heights, Outdoors, Underground parking garages and basements, Various weather conditions.

Driver’s licence: Valid Class 5 / G licence is required.

Salary: $30.00 hourly, 37.5 - 40 hours per week.

Important Information: The position requires working on shifts of 8 hours per day, including two paid 15-minute coffee breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch break. The shifts will be scheduled within the business operating hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, depending on the business needs. Flexibility on schedule is required as some days may start earlier and others finish later. Overnights, work on weekends and overtime may be required depending on the business needs. On-call shifts may be required on a rotational basis.
