Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking an Assistant Area Traffic Engineer (WMS2) to play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions. This position provides essential design guidance and quality assurance for major corridor projects, local agency initiatives, WSDOT Megaprojects, and more in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, and Island Counties. Beyond design, the role utilizes traffic engineering and operations expertise, contributing to project documentation, Access Revision Reports, Intersection Control Evaluations, and WSDOT Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Planning. As an advocate for the state highway network's integrity, this position exercises independent engineering judgment, ensuring the best interests of WSDOT and the traveling public.
