Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist 5 to serve as a Safety Specialist in Seattle, WA. The position serves as a senior-level consultant to Rail Transit Agencies (RTAs) based upon highly specialized expertise in light rail safety. The top candidate will have independent oversight and evaluation responsibilities for assessing the safety standards, policies, practices, procedures, methods, and protocols used by the rail fixed guideway, specifically as they pertain to the Federal Way Link Extension, the Tacoma Dome Link Extension, the Tacoma Link Hilltop Extension, and the associated equipment and facilities related to each project.
